I hate them... the sniffles and the phlem and the coughing... all telling me that winter is coming. Oh, and the 11PM trip to the ER for my little Zachary. He went down last night a little warm but I figured I'd let sleep take it's course and do its healing thing. At about 11PM he woke up crying and sounding like a seal... I knew right there and then what was happening as it had happened to Samuel last year. His breathing was worrisome though so we thought it would be best to bring him in to emerge straightaway. Thankfully we live in a country where we can do this without a second thought. So off we went, and it was quickly determined that he had, indeed, developed Croupe. Poor little soul. The waiting room was pretty close to empty so I thought we'd get in and out of there quick. We didn't... I didn't see a doctor until 2:30am. He gave my sleeping boy a dose of epinephrine and gave me two more in case the other two boys developed the same cough and sent us on our way. The meds helped tremendously and I'm really happy we went! He was a happy go lucky little dude today and I don't even think he'll need to stay home from daycare but it was a scary moment!
I got home at 3AM and I got caught up on some sleep because my husband held down the fort so I could sleep this morning but I really need to go lay down soon so I'll leave it at that little anecdote for now and add some pics and go try to finish a book for my book club meeting tomorrow night... Gab says I have high hope since I just bought it yesterday morning but it gave me something to do in the hospital last night!
