WTFK

This is a saying I've said in my head probably once a day since the boys have been home.  There are always so many questions running around my head trying to understand what truly is happening with my children and why they're behaving a certain way, why they're not eating tonight the exact same meal they devoured last night, what this rash is and why this one's itchy and why that one's not.  There is one simple answer : WHO THE F*%& KNOWS.  Seriously though, if you think Google can solve all your answers, then you're setting yourself up for failure because the simple act of googling "What is that rash?" will immediately get you thinking that your child is going to die a horrible death.  My friend Alicia and I ought to have that acronym tattooed somewhere on our body for the amount of times we've said it, or texted it to one another following a "I wonder why ________ has been ____________ " conversation.  After a few back and forth "Maybe it's ___________, we always end up with WTFK.

Why have they been sleeping like angels for the past 6 months and now they're waking up multiple times a night? WTFK.

Why can't she walk on that foot?  WTFK

Why won't he nap at home when he naps so well at daycare?  WTFK

What could that rash possibly be?  WTFK

Does his breathing sound ok?  Should we take him in?  Emergency or clinic? WTFK

Ear infection?  WTFK

Or, following our play date with morning with Kelly, Kelly and children...

Why are our children behaving like devil spawns? WTFK

Don't worry, you're not alone when you think you, as the mother or father, should know what's wrong with your child.  Pretty often, it's a guessing game and you just hope you make the right choices along the way.  Sure, after a few times, you get to learn your child and the patterns, but you'll never understand the mysteries of toddlerhood.  Just like I don't understand the mysteries of the teenage students who sit in front of me everyday... How do they think they'll pass my class if they don't write anything down?  Do they really think I'm blind?  When did it become ok to talk to adults this way?  WTFK

Anyways... here's what happened in our lives this week.

On Monday Jacob had a great big poop on the potty and grossed himself out.  He kept shouting YUCKY YUCKY YUCKY.  He hasn't been on the potty since... baby steps!  Meanwhile, Samuel was on the baby ring on the toilet doing his thing (which is sitting there and pretend "forcing" while nothing comes out) so I turn and brush my teeth and two seconds later all I hear is "AAAAhhhhhhh!!!! Followed by toddler crying noises... Samuel's ring had slipped from under his bum and he was bum deep in the toilet, arms and legs sticking out, scared to death.  I tried really hard not to laugh (and failed) as I rescued the tiny little dude from the depth of the toilet world.

Monday was also Gab's birthday so I decided to plan a supper out for just the two of us.  I got my in laws to babysit so we could go out to eat.  They told us to take as long as we wanted.  We planned on it but then we decided we wanted to see the boys before they went to bed so we came back home sooner rather than later.  We still had a good time just the two of us for his birthday.  I also booked him a massage that he will get to enjoy on Tuesday.  I'm such a good wife... haha.

Tuesday there was a snow day.  After we dropped off Zachary and Jacob to daycare, Samuel and I went to his eye doctor appointment.  The doctor has detected a slight farsightedness the last time he got checked so he wanted to do a follow up.  He didn't find that anything had changed so no glasses for Sam!

Thursday night I went out for my Moms of Multiples monthly event.  It was super amazing to get to go out and see so many other multiple moms.  It's always such a fun time with some many yummy goodies!  It was a really good one, we could have stayed and chatted all night!

Friday the boys' daycare had a Professional Development day so Gab took the day off and I suddenly got sick so I HAD to stay home too.  We spent a fun morning with the boys and then we went to meet my in-laws, Gab's brother and Gab's great-uncle for lunch.  We were celebrating his birthday and he didn't know we'd be there with the boys so he was really happy to see us all.  He really enjoys our children and seeing how they interact with life.  I enjoy watching him take enjoyment in my children.
Saturday we had soccer tots again.  It was fun.  The boys still didn't get to kick the ball around all that much but they seem to have fun.  My sister and nieces came to see them in action.  We spent the afternoon at the mall killing some time and got a lot of looks, yet again, because we're a freak show... lol.  Well an adorable freak show!

This morning I had my weekly Sunday morning toddler play date which we always SO look forward to... well this morning our children were little hellions.  Not just mine, thankfully, although I'm certain mine were the worst of the bunch.  They were clingy, whiney, feisty, and just plain not themselves.  Normally, it's a morning where we mothers can all relax, drink our coffee and chit chat while our amazing children all play wonderfully together, minus a few parent intervention.  This morning I don't even know how either of the Kelly's week went, I drank my Latte cold and everyone was disciplining everyone's children!  Kelly P tells me that there's a full moon coming, well it was rising in my living room this morning!  Crazzzzy!  I'm still glad they all came though, wouldn't trade my new Sunday morning tradition for anything!  We certainly missed Alicia this morning but I'm sure she's glad she wasn't here... she was, contrary to us, quite relaxed with Yoga time!

Here are the pics!

Tuesday morning with Samuel.  On our way to the eye doctor

He's having a blast getting in and out of that chair

He was such a little trooper when the doctor came in!  He was just so curious about what was happening that he didn't even bat an eye.

The boys got Valentine's Day cards from Mamie and Pappy from Florida

Zachary was reading to his triplet Elmos

He much prefered this

They're getting a tad too big to all be on me but when that's what they want, I don't ever say no

I saw them from the kitchen one day and they just melted my heart...

We went to the carwash on Friday morning.  It was their first experience and they weren't too sure

They did say "encore" after though!

Old Navy knows how to let parents shop!

Let me dip!!!

This St-Hubert place is pretty amazing

Cake!!!

I love that it's getting nice enough outside to let them play on the font deck!

Fresh air!!!

Soccer tots

Can you spot my three?

Getting better at this!

This is how cute they were in the mall.  They walked hand in hand for about 5 minutes through the mall.  How many "OMG, how cute is that?" do you think we got??  I said it myself like 100 times in my head!

The boys woke up before I could finish my work out this morning so I got them up and made them watch me as I finished!

Dodo

Bubbles!

They all wanted to try to blow bubbles.  Jacob and Samuel succeeded.  Zachary did not.

Samuel making everyone sing.

Although it looks here as though he wants Zachary to EAT the mic.

Have a good week y'all!
