Small tidbits

Well folks, I'm struggling with a writer's block tonight so I will have to leave you with just a few tidbits of our week...

Gab took a few days off early this week as it was his birthday week and secretly I think he was a tad jealous of my kid free snow days... Karma bit him in right in the butt on Tuesday though because daycare called and he had to go get Zachary.  He still got to go to his Handsome Devils beard trim appointment and, thanks to his dad (who is always there to help us out), he still got to go get his birthday massage I had booked for him.  And seriously, one kid is a breeze for us (sorry all your singleton folks, but it's the plain truth).  It was still nice in the end that he and Zachary got to have some alone time.

Wednesday night, my sister and her family came to visit which is always nice.  My sister and niece Gabrielle actually came back today for a quick visit so that my sister could try on some makeup she wanted to buy and it was just post nap and we were so boring just chilling on the couch watching Grease that we bored them away lol.

Speaking of naps... we are still having such a hard time with naps at home with the boys... When Zachary was alone with Gab here on Monday, he slept for 2.5 hours!  This tells me that there is an instigator in the bunch and letting them nap in the same room is just not working for us anymore.  Saturday after soccer tots I left to go do my friend's makeup for her wedding and Gab was in charge of nap time.  Well Sam didn't sleep a wink.  Gab went to get him and brought him into our bed and thankfully the other two kept sleeping.  Zachary and Jacob slept really well but Samuel just wasn't having it.  The after effects were truly something too... Today we decided to take Samuel out of the bedroom from the start.  I brought him in the bed with me and we put the other two down.  They chatted for about 10 minutes (versus their normal 60) and went right to sleep.  Sam rolled around like a dog would to find his best spot and went to sleep pretty quickly too.  I didn't dare leave so I got to have some chill time this afternoon myself.  I think we're going to try separating Sam as we think he may be the mole.  We'll try it and see... but, like I said just last week... WTFK??

We were sitting around on Saturday afternoon wondering what to do with the boys on this gorgeous day outside and decided to take them on a bus ride.  So we packed them up, drove to the mall, hopped on the bus that we knew would take a 30 minute detour and round and round we went all through the town!  The boys were super curious about all that was around them.  I think they felt pretty special without a five point harness on!

We came back home and the crazy clingliness ensued... There were so many freak outs for the most simple things we spent the afternoon soothing one child after another over and over and over again.  Gab's back is pretty much out today from having to pick them up about 1000 times yesterday afternoon.  Sam was freaking out at one point because he wanted to put water in all the cups and when I decided enough was enough, I poured out a cup and water got on his hand and it was as though I had dropped acid on it!! It was a long afternoon/evening.  I have to say once again how glad I am that we slept trained those boys because the moment we say goodnight and close that bedroom door, we are 95% sure that we are not going to have to back in until the morning.  It happened once this week where we had to go soothe Samuel, give him some water and medicine and then soothe Jacob who just hates to go back to sleep once he's woken up.  It only took us about 30 minutes to settle them all down again but it's so out of the ordinary that we were all messed up!

I went to get groceries this morning with Samuel.  I took him because he's been the most prone to having freak outs so we thought he'd enjoy the time away from his brothers and a change in scenery.  It went actually really good.  We went to Costco where I didn't have 100 people looking at me because having ONE toddler is completely normal and nothing to stare at.  We then went to Superstore where he did really good walking beside the cart while holding on to it until we got to the medicine aisle and he just wanted to open all the boxes... back into the cart he went!  It was cute though because when we got home, Jacob ran right to him to give him a big hug... the love is adorable!  While we were gone, Gab took the other two for a walk in their double stroller where they saw some dogs... doing it... haha... Thankfully they're still too young to even wonder at what they're seeing.  They were just excited to see TWO dogs!

Saturday night we went out to an event for Parents of Multiples.  We have a Moms of Multiples gathering once a month but we got to bring our significant others there last night so it was nice to get the whole gang together.  I met a young twin mom there who was telling me that she has her twins when she was just 17!  She still finished high school as the yearbook editor, the baby daddy is still around (he was there with her last night), they're both in university and raising these babies!  I was so impressed by them and the courage they had to have to face all that adversity and still make it through.  NOT that I'm saying I'm ok with teenagers being pregnant, but accidents happen and beauty can come out of those.  I was just really impressed by how she brushed it off and went with it!  Kudos to you hun!

That's about all folks... have a great week!  Here are some pics:

I have no idea what's going on here

Zachary started to line up all the toy seats this week, creating a train.

He then sits on one of them and shouts "Jacob, Sam, c'mon!"

Sam has not been feeling 100% this week...

More soccer tots.

Got the chance to makeup one of my oldest friends for her wedding yesterday.  How gorgeous is she?

Bus ride!

Multiples Parents Night Out!!

The boys LOVE to listen to Gab play, until they just all want to play themselves

Having some alone time with Sam grocery shopping this morning!

Sam loving my boots!

More train time

He's obsessed

This should be an official Cheerio picture

Until next time... xx
