Holidays 2015

What a week friends!  I can't believe Christmas is over!  How fast did that GO??  Crazy how long we yearn for these days to happen and then pass by in a flash!  I saw a graphic today that said "Hurray! Only 364 days until Christmas!!".  It made me roll my eyes but then I realized that next Christmas will actually be here before we know and Christmas 2016 will pass by in a flash, as quickly as this year did...

So many amazing things happened this week!  Monday was a nerve racking day for me because I realized my wallet was missing and it didn't get found until later in the morning so I spent hours trying to figure out what I had in my wallet and what I would need to replace... I even had Gab's main gift in there... I was so upset but I finally got it back with the amazing help of many people involved.  I had left it in my friend's car who was just dropping me off on the way to Fredericton.  She hadn't seen it when she had first looked in the morning because it was dark and it was in a weird spot in the backseat of her car that she never really looked in.

On Wednesday we had a great happy hour date with all our friends at Mel's place.  I remember when I was young, my family was huge on both my mother's side and my father's side (both my grand-mothers had 12 kids).  We'd go from one grand-mother's house to the other and there was always an abundance of people everywhere we went.  Now, families are much smaller and where we find the most people is often with our friends with children.  There were many of us there with many little people running around all over the place.  We lost Zachary a few times because he kept locking himself in the bathroom and yelling HELP ME!  He's my little explorer so I wasn't surprised.  The boys had so much fun with all their little friends.  All the children, including some of the parents, were in PJs and ready to go to bed as soon as we left.  We were thinking we'd stay a little later and the boys could handle going to bed 1/2 hour to 45 minutes later but right on cue, at 6, they were showing signs of get me to bed on time or I will lose my shit.  I remarked after the event that when we do this again in ten years our children will be hanging out in the basement while we can drink our adult juices upstairs without running interference all night.  It was such a great kick off to the Christmas celebrations.  Thanks again Mel!

Thursday started off rough... I think the boys knew that I was going to be alone with them for most of the day and they planned on making it rough for me... The moment Gab left, they had a melt down (well Samuel and Jacob did, Zachary was just playing and minding his own business).  I had an hour of craziness making me wonder how all my triplet mom friends who are stay at home do it and stay sane (or are they?!?).  Maybe they have a better established routine but phew... what a morning!  Nevermind, it was only an hour! haha... My friend Véronique had invited me over to her place and I jumped at the chance to go.  So that's how we spent our morning.  We came home, had a very nice soup and sandwich lunch where my troublets became my sons again.  Nap time... well I almost don't want to talk about nap time because I'm in a good mood.  Let's just say it sucks.  Every damn day.  I just don't know what to do anymore.  And don't tell me that it's because they're done napping.  They nap a full two hours at daycare 5 days a week.  They just suck at napping at home.   Anyways, we were hosting Christmas Eve so that was great.  We exchanged gifts, had a great ham and scallop potato dinner finished off with amazing deserts my mother in law made and were in bed by 9.

Almost every time I talked to people about Christmas this year people would say "The boys must be sooooo excited this year!".  I would answer yes but in my head I would go... Nope, not really... the boys are still really young to be excited about this event.  I know that they must have felt something different in the air with all the decorations and the extra time at home and seeing all the people they loved all at the same time but I wouldn't say they got excited.  Gabe and I were so excited about their stocking on Christmas morning but honestly all they wanted was to eat the chocolate.  They didn't care about emptying the rest of their stocking, they didn't care about the other gifts from Santa, as soon as they realized they had chocolate in front of them they were focused only on getting it in their mouths.  That moment made us really glad we didn't spend too much money on the boys.  To be honest, a lot of their stocking gifts and Santa gifts came from the Dollorama.  They got spoiled from the family so they got lots of goodies.  They got an amazing little BBQ with a huge bag of play food from my sister on top of a Soccer Tots registration.  They got play guitars and leap pad mini play computers and a giant piano from my in laws.  They certainly did not get forgotten by Santa.  So much stuff!!  Next week, one of my tasks is to actually minimize their toys... we'll see how that goes...

We spent the afternoon and early evening at my in laws' house for Christmas dinner where the boys got their first guitar and first "computer".  The boys had such a good time running around the house and making everyone laugh.  We had a yummy dinner of Veto's lasagna and more yummy mother in law desert and some even yummier wine (although I'm the only one in my whole family who drinks wine... Well my mother does with me but she's in Florida...).

Yesterday morning we went to the park we visited weekly this summer.  It was a great way to spend a boxing day morning.  This morning my friend Kelly brought her twins here to play with the boys, latte for me in hand, it was another great way to spend a snowy morning.

All in all, it was a great Holiday week!

After graduating from physio and ergo!  Don't they look excited?

Great get together Mel!

Finally reunited with my wallet!

One of the biggest fights we have to deal with is their wanting the same freaking toy even if there are two exact same toys right beside it.  We decided to put their pictures on the toys so they can identify which ones are theirs.  It has saved us some fights already today!

Have a good one y'all!!  Sorry so long!!!

Oh!  I want to say welcome to the world baby boy Jonah and baby girl Brading who were born today!
