Goodbye Cancer!

It was there, always on our minds, never letting us breathe right.  The beast thought it would get the best of us, but the beast has never met my sister.  My amazingly brave and strong sister conquered and got rid of the thing that was threatening to take her from us.  IT'S GONE Y'ALL!!!!!!!!!!!  Of course, the idea of it will always be lurking.  As my friend Alicia said: "It's never really over MC.  Every phone call, every regular appointment, every single time you hear that phone ring, you're going to wonder if it's come back."  Well I'm going to keep up thinking only positively and just know in my heart that's gone FOREVER.  She may still need some preemptive chemo so that she can stop any possible unwanted comebacks.  Preemtive definition : Done before others can act: Done before somebody else has had an opportunity to act so making his or her planned action pointless or impossible.  She may also not need ANY. That's the next thing we're waiting on...

Now to the boys... ZACHARY IS OFFICIALLY A WALKER!!!!!!!!!! Click here to watch how freaking adorable he is... Zachary's walking video.  It went so quickly!!  Between Monday and Tuesday, the difference was incredible.  On Monday he would take like 10 tiny little steps, almost moving an inch between each step and Tuesday, he was a full on walker... We're so proud of our little guy!

That must have been one of the only happy nights of the week because starting on Wednesday, shit started going downhill... and I meant to pun... The boys started getting sick one after another and it hasn't stopped since.  On Wednesday after bath night, Jacob snuggled up to Gabe and didn't move for like 5 minutes.  He was acting super tired (which is unusual for him).  He looked like he did last Friday after he hit his head and threw up.  We didn't think too much of it as we just assumed he was super tired.  Well just before my father in law Claude went to put him down to bed, our little man just lost his supper all over him.  I grabbed him quickly and he threw up again all over me in the bathroom.  He was so scared, as all babies are I guess.  We thought that because it had happened almost a week ago, it may be something he ate at daycare both of those days and he was allergic.  He stayed home on Thursday with my mom and spent all day just cuddling with her (I'm sure she didn't mind as she's leaving again to go to Florida on Thursday so extra snuggles is always welcome!).  He seemed to be doing a bit better the next day so we thought daycare might be a go.  And then... Samuel decides to throw up his yummy smoothie.  It was funny because it actually looked like soft serve ice cream coming out... lol.  So Samuel was staying home and then when I changed Jacob's diaper, it was not pretty so he was going to stay home too.  My in laws decided to keep Zachary home because they were scared he was going to miss his brothers (cute right?).  We thought we would be in the clear because Jacob was fine all day Friday and Samuel threw up a few times and Zachary was a little funny spitfire all day.  NOPE!  Zachary decided to join his brothers on Saturday morning... Ahh!!!!  Zachary got it the worst of them because he couldn't keep ANYTHING down.  Not even water poor little buddy.  Jacob was slowly getting back to his old self and Sam was eating little bits at a time.  He was super clingy but on the mend.  Or so we thought... NOT SO!!  Samuel threw up again this morning, joining his brother Zachary who was still throwing up everything.  We started getting worried about them being dehydrated after all the vomiting and diarrhea so after calling Telecare (again), they advised us to go get them checked out.  So what did we do on our storm day?  ER fun times!  We were there from about 10 to 2 so not to bad in all but it's pretty difficult with two toddlers.  My in laws came to look after Jacob so that was nice.  The doctor gave them some medicine and told us to keep doing what we had been doing.  Yesterday, after talking to Telecare, they had told us to give Zachary 2tsp of Pedialyte every 5 minutes.  Which we did, for three hours!  He kept it all in though so we knew he was getting some hydration.  Anyways, Sam wanted nothing to do with it yesterday but he did well today so they got some fluid in all day and finally gave us some diapers with pee in it (which, as a mother to a sick baby, is cause for a small celebration).  They (and we) had a pretty rough few days and they're all sleeping soundly and have been for about 2 hours so we're hoping for a good night.  With this storm, maybe I'll have a snow day tomorrow and I'll be able to take care of my babies.  If you've ever had a sick toddler, try multiplying this by three and you'll have some idea of what our weekend was like.  I swear Gabe was ready to throw in the towel a few times after Zachary's cramps kept him crying for hours on end and when nothing we could do could console him.  I felt so bad for him... We watched Baby Babble three or maybe four times today, it was the only thing that would soothe them for a little bit.  Even Jacob was difficult as all he wanted to do was be in the kitchen.  He kept going to the gate and doing the eating sign. For two days straight, all day long... He was trying to make up for the two lost no eating days.  Anyways, if you're still reading, sorry for rambling... but what a freaking week!

Before I put up the pics, I want to thank everyone for your prayers, positive thoughts, words, messages and even gifts you've all sent towards my sister.  It worked!  CANCER FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Love you so much sis!!

Jacob feeling a little better but still looking quite tired...

We decided to let them play with Kleenex...

They loved it...

We lost a whole box of Kleenex...

Have you ever tried putting Kleenex back in a box?

Oh well, they loved it, so that's what matters!

Jacob - Mamie Day

They only stayed out for about 10 minutes

The fresh air always does everyone good

How cute is this winter overall we found in a random box?  Thank you whoever gave it to us!!
Hanging out at the hospital

Zach having a little nap in the room

So peaceful... it was a nice relaxing 45 minutes!

All my boys were taking a quick snooze

First thing he had all day that he kept down!  He also had 10 spoonfuls of yogurt for supper!  Progress!!!

This was a rough weekend but I have to say that I still try (and try and try) to keep my chin up because obviously they're not being difficult for no reason, my poor little buddies were (are) sick... so here's to a good week y'all... xox
